Welcome to CoastBase

"An early warning system for detecting change in the marine environment."

The Marine Community Monitoring Program is a collaborative project between the Department of Conservation and Land Management (CALM) and the Natural Heritage Trust’s (NHT) Coastcare program. The NHT’s Coastcare initiative helped to fund the establishment of the program, including the development of the Marine Community Monitoring Manual and CoastBase database.

On-going program development and implementation will occur with the support of the CALM district offices, Natural Resource Management Councils and regional Coastcare facilitators.

For further information about the program please return to the CALM website, NatureBase. The website provides information about the program and how you can become involved (http://www.naturebase.net/coastbase).
